China bearing industry is a huge market

The size of China’s bearing industry accounts for about 34% of the world (2022 data), and the Asia-Pacific region accounts for 5% of the global market.
The size of China’s bearing industry was about 250 billion yuan in 2022, up 9.7% year-on-year; the market size increased to 278.5 billion yuan in 2023, up 10.8% year-on-year, and exceeded 308.5 billion yuan in 2024.

In terms of production, China produced 25.9 billion sets in 2022, increasing to 27.5 billion sets in 2023 and 29.8 billion sets in 2024, a 6.18% year-on-year growth.

China is not only a big producer of bearings, but also a big importer.China imported $3.519 billion of rolling bearings in Jan-Dec 2024, down 6.73 % year-on-year. The import quantity was 166,200 tons, down 9.14 % year-on-year. We should see that the price of imported bearings is four times the price of bearings exported from China.

Ranked in the import of the top five types of bearings, in order: deep groove ball ball bearings; other cylindrical roller bearings, including cages and roller assemblies; other parts of rolling bearings; other ball bearings; tapered roller bearings, including tapered roller assemblies.

Thrust ball ball bearings and spherical ball ball bearings are less imported products.
